NSE Turnover Declines to Ksh 177 Million

At the end of trading on 8th September 2020, Total Equity turnover declined to Ksh 177.66 Million on a volume of 10.28 Million transacted in 1098 deals. 

The top 4 gainers were led by Nairobi Securities Exchange whose share price rose 5.46 per cent to Ksh 8.50. 

It was followed by BOC which recorded a price appreciation of 4.27 per cent to Ksh 61.00, HFCK up 3.63 per cent to Ksh 4.00, Uchumi which climbed 3.33 per cent to 31 cents and Nation Media Group whose share price shot up 3.03 per cent to Ksh 18.70.

The biggest loser was Standard Group whose share price declined by 10 per cent to Ksh 20.25. 

The media firm was followed by Umeme Limited, Express Kenya, Flame Tree Group, and East African Breweries on the list of most capitalised stocks posting a 5.16 per cent price decline to Ksh 164.00 per share. 

ABSA Bank was the biggest mover at the NSE when trading was closed today.


The lender traded a volume of 4.13 Million shares at between Ksh 9.90 and Ksh 9.52, resulting in a turnover of Ksh 40.64 Million from 84 deals. 

When the market closed, ABSA shares were trading at Ksh 9.84, an increase of 1.86 per cent from the previous Ksh 9.66.

Other movers included Safaricom which traded a volume of 1.65 million shares, Kenya Power which traded 714,000 shares, Equity Bank which traded 586,200 shares, and Kenya Reinsurance Corporation which traded 579,400 shares. 

The NSE 20 Share index declined by 20.39 points to 3166.04. Also on a fall was the NSE All-Share Index which declined by 0.47 per cent
