NSE Records a Ksh 386.66 Million Turnover

Equity turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) rose to Ksh 386.66 Million when trading closed today. A total of 15.94 Million shares were traded in 704 deals.

This is an increase compared to a turnover of Ksh 347. 3 Million recorded on Tuesday when 17.44 Million shares were transacted in 943 deals.

The NSE 20 Share index rose 2.88 points to 1734.34 while the NSE 25 Share index rose to 2991.56, an increase of 19.99 points from the previous 2971.57.

The NSE All-Share index rose to 130.85 from the previous 130.51, an increase of 0.34 points.
The top gainer was Nairobi Business Ventures whose price rose by 10% to Ksh 0.66.


It was followed by Liberty Kenya Holdings, Uchumi, East African Cables whose share price rose to Ksh 1.79, an increase of 5.29%

The biggest loser was Williamson Tea whose share price fell 8.16% to Ksh 132.25. Other losers were Sameer Africa(7.14% decline), Flame Tree Group- a decline of 6.02% to Ksh 1.25, Housing Finance- a fall of 6% to Ksh 3.76 and Umeme-whose price declined by 5.33% to Ksh 7.10.

KCB was the biggest mover with 6.94 Million shares followed by Safaricom(3.10 Million), NSE(1.60 Million), Equity(1.19 Million), and KenGen(1.06 Million).

There were no contracts concluded at the derivatives market during today’s trading session at the NSE.

The Secondary bond market recorded a decline with bonds worth Ksh 451.73 Million transacted in 78 deals. This is compared to Ksh 914.0 million achieved in 67 deals yesterday.
