For the second year in a row, Cytonn Investments Management PLC was named one of the Top 100 Companies to Work for in Kenya. The yearly report by Brighter Monday ranked Cytonn number 27 out of the 100 best employers, 28th most respected and admired companies, and the 39th most desired company.

Other notable names that made it onto the list are Safaricom, which took first place, EABL, the United Nations, KCB and the Kenya Revenue Authority.

Some of the metrics used to create this list include how employees felt about working there, the company culture, opportunities for career growth, the level of diversity and inclusion, and lastly, the pay and benefits offered by each company. Others include an open and effective management, a fair reward system for good performance and the prioritizing of health and wellness among employees.

Interestingly, a majority of the respondents surveyed held entry and mid-level positions in these companies and were between 25 and 35 years old. In a statement, Daniel Mainye, the Senior Brand Manager at Cytonn said, “Whichever business you undertake, hiring great people is always the most important task. After all, a company is only as good as the people it keeps. Whenever we can, we want to develop our own talent from entry level. That is why we partner with universities to take in candidates for our competitive internship program that leads to full time offers for the successful few. If you are smart, hardworking and want to solve some of the most complex but exciting challenges in the fields of finance, investments, real estate and technology, then Cytonn is the place to be.”

With unemployment being among the top issues Kenyans grapple with, one of the aims of this yearly report is to highlight and celebrate companies that are doing their part in creating exceptional working conditions in the country. It is also meant to aid in decision making for jobseekers since employee satisfaction is directly proportional to an organization’s overall wellbeing. In Kenya, employees are most satisfied when they can relate to a company’s vision, have full transparency with management and have flexibility in the execution of their tasks. Ensuring that staff are happy and satisfied not only increases a company's productivity but its reputation as well.
